{"id":42,"date":"2020-07-28T15:15:50","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T13:15:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faq.op-weborama.fr\/?p=42"},"modified":"2020-07-28T15:19:11","modified_gmt":"2020-07-28T13:19:11","slug":"creating-and-managing-ad-groups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faq.op-weborama.fr\/index.php\/2020\/07\/28\/creating-and-managing-ad-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating and managing ad groups"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating and editing&nbsp; ad groups<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The properties&nbsp; tab allows you to&nbsp; create and edit ad groups.<\/em><\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The creation of an adgroup allow to generate a generic clicktag (tracking tags for clicks) to be implemented (manual set up) in the search platform for tracking in WCM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clicktag can be enriched with different landing URLs and can be placed either on the keywords or site destination URLs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select \u201cadd adgroup \u201d from the available menus for the search account already added. Enter the following settings in the dedicated form to create and edit the adgroups :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Name:<\/strong>&nbsp;Enter the name of the adgroup<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>The search account&nbsp;<\/strong>is already selected and not editable<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Default click Url<\/strong>&nbsp;: &nbsp;This field allows you to define the landing URL to be applied by default . You can&nbsp; then enrich the clicktag with different landing URLs per keywords or per placements for the Google Content Network (&nbsp; in the \u201clanding generator\u201d tab from the \u201cTracking tags \u201cpage).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Note :&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>A Warning icon is displayed if your landing URL is invalid, but it will not prevent you from submitting the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em>A Warning icon is displayed if your click-through url is invalid, but it will not prevent you from submitting the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Priority level (standard, high or low)<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The priority level serves to set the priority level for clicks on this insertion in allocating conversions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Important :<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clicktag generated contains the dynamic variables provided by google enabling to append the tracking with the Ad Id, the keyword,&nbsp; the keywords match type, the network ( Search vs Content), and the placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beware that with the synchronization implementation mode that adgroups are automatically created when synchronizing a campaign from the search platform . In this case the default destination URL cannot be defined nor edited. By default , the synced adgroup are created with a standard priority but the you change their priority afterwards. You can do so by&nbsp;editing multiple adgroups&nbsp;ate the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Multiple Cha<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>nges:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em>When you&nbsp;edit multiple ad groups simultaneously,&nbsp;the fields which appear are those of the last selected adgroup. Non-editable fields do not appear. When you edit a field, an icon appears in front of it to signify that the modification will be applied to all insertions selected.&nbsp; The number of ad groups it applies to is displayed beside the title in the editing window and next to the \u201cEdit selected\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/doc.weborama.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/add-ad-group.gif\" alt=\"Creating and editing Ad groups\" title=\"Creating and editing Ad groups\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Updating sync of an ad group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Once a campaign from a search account has been synchronized, the sync tab at the ad group level allows you to update the synchronization of each ad group separately.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the sync of a campaign from the search account has been completed, all its ad groups are synced and a summary of each ad group is displayed on the ynchronization tab :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>The name and ID&nbsp;<\/strong>of the campaign in the Google Adwords account to which the ad group belongs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Sync stage<\/strong>:<ul><li>Processed&nbsp;: the synchronization between&nbsp;WCM and Google is in progress<\/li><li>Synchronized: the synchronization between WCM and Google is in finished<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Last sync date&nbsp;<\/strong>:&nbsp; informs about when&nbsp; (date and hour) of the last synchronization done<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Status at sync date&nbsp;<\/strong>: informs about the status of the campaign in Google Adwords interface at the last syncn date<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Nb of elements<\/strong>: summarize the number of elements (ads, keywords, placements) composing the campaign recorded at the last sync date.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When clicking the&nbsp;<em>Update sync<\/em>&nbsp;button , WCM will automatically connect to Google Adwords to record all the new elements created as well as landing URLs changes in the ad groups and update tracking tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The status is provided for information and is tied in with the sync date. It may be different in the Google Adwords interface without interfering in the tracking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It is necessary to &nbsp;launch a sync update in&nbsp;WCM every time that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>an element&nbsp; (ad, keyword, or placement) is added<\/li><li>an ad is modified ( indeed this means in Google Adwords that a new ad is created and the former one deleted)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note : Beware that in those cases, if the element is live you might record clicks in Google Adwords, while you won\u2019t record any in WCM while the element is not synced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>a destination URL is modified ( at any level: ad, keyword or placement )<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It is not necessary to launch a sync update in&nbsp;WCM after other modifications such as change of status, &nbsp;change of max CPC,since it does not require&nbsp;WCM to implement or update tracking tag as a landing URLs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duplicating, Deleting, or stopping an ad group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The adgroup&nbsp; drop-down menu allows you to delete, duplicate, and mark it as ended.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Select&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cDuplicate\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;to duplicate the adgroup .<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose in which search account and in which campaign you wish to duplicate the adgroups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An identical duplicate of the adgroup will be made (including its settings). You can choose to edit settings later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Select&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cDelete\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;to delete an adgroup within a search account. This option is only available if the adgroup is void of statistics for the campaign.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Select&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cMark as ended\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;to stop the tracking of clicks on all ads in the adgroup. The adgroup wil be set to \u201cto \u201cEnded\u201d and marked with a red dot.&nbsp;We will then no longer count clicks but may continue to track conversions depending on the tracking times set.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Note:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>Beware that this option stops tracking clicks in WCM but that you can still count impressions and clicks in the Search platform if the&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>ad group<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>&nbsp;is not paused in its interface.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/doc.weborama.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Ad-group-action-menu.gif\" alt=\"Ad group action menu\" title=\"Ad grop action menu\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Creating and editing&nbsp; ad groups The properties&nbsp; tab allows you to&nbsp; create and edit ad groups.
