Once the creative has been created in the Properties tab you can upload and configure the elements composing the creative in the Elements tab.
Elements roles & upload
The elements tab allows you to upload the different files for different role within (fixed position , expandable , layer…) the creative and configure their options according to the role selected.
- Elements roles
The different roles for which you can upload files are proposed on the panel according to the creative format (selected on the properties tab).
In most of the case you must upload at least one file for a fixed position role. For some rich media format however , you have the possibility to generate and empty banner for the fixed position role.
It is possible to upload several files for the same role. For instance you can upload a flash file (.swf) and an image file (.png) for a fixed position, so that the image would be displayed as back up image in the case that the user system doesn’t not have flash player. Refer to the ‘Elements priority’ part for more information on how elements are organized within a role.
The table below describes the elements roles and files which can be uploaded according to each creative format.
| Element Roles | File type & extensions possible Image : GIF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMPFlash: SWFHTML: HTML,HTM | Creatives formats |
| Fixed Position (main role) | Image FlashHTML | All creative’s formats except 3rd party JS/HTML |
| Pop Up | Image Flash | WLM (Windows Live Messenger) |
| Expandable (classic) | Image FlashHTML | Expandable |
| Layer ( classic) | Image Flash | Standard Ad + Layer |
| Layer (Rich Media) | Image FlashHTML | All Rich Media formats |
| Assets | Image FlashHTML+ All other extension files | All creative’s formats except 3rd party JS/HTML |
- Elements upload :
Click the Upload new file button to browse your computer and select the different files to upload.
You can select several files to upload them at the same time. Once you have selected them, a dialog box appears to let you confirm or remove ( if you untick the check box in front of the file) and assigned the file to a specific role among the ones available for the format.

Once uploaded the files are listed under their position in a frame summarizing their properties. You have the possibility to :
– assigned them to another role available for the creative format , by dragging them (using the hand icon )
– delete them (trash can icon)
– modify their settings ( a link Show options appears when hovering over the file name, to open the Settings dialog box; Refer to the Elements properties and settings for information on the elements settings available)
– modify their priority

- Elements priority within a role
You have the possibility to upload several files for the same role. The ordering of the elements uploaded within the role is important and can influence, depending on the element role, which element is displayed to the user or the element displayed on top . You can drag (using the hand icon) elements within the role to re-order them.
- For fixed position , standard layer , standard expandable and WLM pop up :
For those roles only one element has to be displayed. The ordering of the different elements within a role will then define the element display to the user.
The element on top has the highest priority to be displayed to the user if its configuration matches the file requirements.
The elements are ordered according to their media type (for example by default a flash file has a higher priority than an image file) but you can re-order them.
- For Rich Media Layers
All the elements uploaded for this role have to be displayed to the user (as long as its configuration allows it). The order of the elements within the role is done according to their z-index . The element with the highest Z-index appears on top of the list (An element with greater z-index is always displayed in front of an element with a lower stack z-index).
- For Assets
For this role , the order has no influence. Elements are simply uploaded to the server and used by another element which is assigned to one of the above mentioned roles.
