- Comments (optional)
When saved, the search account is automatically inserted as an item line in the campaign tree structure.

Creating a new search account
From the search account selection list you can add a new search account .
If the search account you want to add to a campaign is not in the list, you can create it by clicking “create a new search account ” at the bottom of the list .
In this window you will be able to add a new search accountto your WCM account.
The search account created must be associated to a Search Platform (Google Adwords, Bing-Yahoo Search Alliance….) . If the Search Platform does not exist, it can also be created by entering a name in the Search Platform field and clicking Create a new search platform at the bottom of the list.
To create a search platform you must fill in the form that appears on the page and enter:
- A Country
- A search platform
- A Name ( identifying the name or the ID of the account for the search platform)
- Name and ID fields are used to associate external references (name or ID) to the search account . You can find these references in the API exports.
When adding a search account for Google Adwords platform, an additional field lets you request a connection between the WCM and the Google Adwords account. You must then specify the ID of the Google Adwords account. This link will allow you to retrieve automatically in WCM impressions, clicks and cost metrics from Google Adwords interface.
Click Save & Close to save the search account you have created. It will now appear in the list of search accounts available.

Editing tracking times for a search account
The Properties tab in the Search account section allows you to define tracking times for a specific search account included in the campaign.
The tracking time is the maximum number of days during which conversions made by a visitor may be attributed to past actions.
This tab allows you to set tracking times for a search account that are different than those defined for the campaign. Tracking times set on search account level take precedence over those defined for the campaign.
In the campaign properties, you can open an attribution window allowing you to edit tracking times for vpost-click conversions:
Default post-click is set to 30 days. You can change the tracking times to fit your needs, however it must not exceed 90 days.
Once you’ve completed all fields, save to return to the site/offers properties form.

Syncing a campaign from the search account
The sync tab allows you to set the tracking of your search campaigns in WCM through the synchronization mode. It lets you download campaigns from the search platform and update their tracking.
The synchronization tab is available only is the Synchronization module has been activated for the WCM account and is proposed only for Google Adwords Search Platform.
It is first compulsory to link the WCM account with the Google Adwords account, you will then be able to sync campaigns from Google Adwords to WCM.
Once you have added a ‘linked’ Google Adwords as a search account to the campaign in WCM, you can then synchronize a specific campaign from this account into WCM:
Follow the following steps :
– Click ‘ get campaign listing : WCM connects to your Google Adwords account to propose you a list of campaigns which can be synced.
– Select the campaign from Google Adwords that you want to sync for the aWCM campaign
Only one campaign from Google Adwords can be synced for one campaign in WCM
Some information is provide to help select the appropriate campaign from Google Adwords:
– The name and the ID ( the start date, the end date and the status)
Note: Note that deleted, ended, nor already synced campaigns are not proposed.
When clicking the Launch sync button WCM will automatically connect to Google Adwords to record all the campaign elements ( ad groups, ads, keywords, placements ) and implement the tracking in Google Adwords ( i.e setup WCM tracking tags as landings URLs for keywords or placements) .
Note : This operation relies on a connection to Google Adwords API and may last for a while.
Updating sync of a campaign from the search account
Once a campaign from a search account has been synchronized, the sync tab allows you to update the synchronization.
Once the synchronization has been completed a summary is displayed on the synchronization tab:
- The name and ID of the campaign in the Google Adwords account
- Sync stage:
- Processed : the synchronization between WCM and Google is in progress
- Synchronized: the synchronization between WCM and Google is in finished
- Last sync date : informs about when (date and hour) of the last synchronization done
- Status at sync date : informs about the status of the campaign in Google Adwords interface at the last syncn date .
- Nb of elements: summarize the number of elements (ad groups, ads, keywords, placements) composing the campaign recorded at the last sync date.
When clicking the Update sync button , WCM will automatically connect to Google Adwords to record all the new elements created as well as landing URLs changes in the campaign and update tracking tags.
Important
– The status is provided for information and is tied in with the sync date. It may be different in the Google Adwords interface without interfering in the tracking.
– It is necessary to launch a sync update in WCM every time that:
- an element (ad group, ad, keyword, or placement) is added
- an ad is modified ( indeed this means in Google Adwords that a new ad is created and the former one deleted)
- a destination URL is modified ( at any level: ad, keyword or placement )
– It is not necessary to launch a sync update in WCM after other modifications such as change of status, change of max CPC, campaign settings changes ( budget, date, schedule, network, location…) since it does not require WCM to implement or update tracking tag as a landing URLs.
Sending Tracking Tags for a search account
Use the campaign “Send Tags” tab to send the tracking tags to the contacts in charge of trafficking in the search platform.
The Send Tags tab gives you access to different tracking tags generated for a search account and send them directly by email to the contacts managing the tags implementation in the search platform tool.
- Contact E-mails:
Enter the e-mail addresses of the people you wish to send the e-mail to. By default the contacts previously entered when adding the search accont are proposed, however you can delete or edit them.
- Message:
You can add recipients and attachments. You can also select the default text language and change it.
Click the paper clip icon to add attachments.
Click access to the tags page to access the page where the tags are presented.
Emails will be sent directly to all contacts when you click Send or Send & close.
Duplicating, deleting or stopping ad groups of a search account
The search account drop-down menu allows you to delete, duplicate, and mark it as ended .
- Select Duplicate to duplicate the ad groups within another search platform.
Choose in which search account and in which campaign you wish to duplicate the ad groups. An identical duplicate of all ad groups will be made (including their settings). You can choose to edit or delete specific settings later.
- Select Delete to delete a search account within a campaign. This option is only available if the search accoiunt is void of statistics for the campaign.
- Select Mark as ended to stop the tracking across all of the search account adgroups.
All adgroups within the search account will be set to “Ended” and marked with a red dot. We will then no longer count clicks but may continue to track conversions depending on the tracking times set.
Note : Beware that this option stops tracking clicks in WCM but that you can still count impressions and clicks in the Search platform if the campaign is not paused in its interface
