Creating and editing a campaign
The Properties tab allows you to create and edit Display channel campaigns.
To create a campaign you must first create the project in which you wish to create the campaign. From the Campaign Overview section, select Add a Display Campaign’ in the project menu (this choice is permanent).
To create a Display campaign you need to enter:
- A Campaign Name : enter a name that clearly defines the campaign
- Start and end dates
Dates can be set automatically or you can choose to enter them yourself.
If you choose the automatic option, the start date is automatically set when the campaign begins tracking statistics (impressions or clicks) and the end date is set when the campaign is stopped.
The campaign can be ended automatically or manually (using the mark as ended option in the campaign menu).
- Stop all delivery after this end-date Option:
This option is only available if an end-date is specified. After the end-date, all delivery of creatives across all insertions of the campaign will be ended.
If this option is checked, after the specified date, the campaign will deliver a white pixel instead of creatives. The campaign will no longer count impressions or clicks but will continue to track conversions depending on the tracking times you set.
- Default URL (optional)
This field allows you to define the click-through URL to be applied by default to all campaign creatives and tracking links by URL inheritance. You can then specify different URLs at lower levels (site / offer, insertion or creative assigned to the insertion).
Note:
A Warning icon is displayed if your click-through URL is invalid, but it will not prevent you from submitting the form.
- The Tracking Times link opens a new window for editing the conversion tracking period for the campaign.
- The Synchronize link opens a new window for activating optional campaign modules.
- Label (optional): Labels are used to categorize campaigns according to common specifications (themes, objectives …) and combine all of the campaigns associated with the label in the Reporting section. You can associate multiple labels to a single campaign. Select labels among those available or enter your own labels to mark the campaign.
- Brand / Product (optional).
Similarly to labels, the product/brand can group campaigns by product or brand allowing for combined statistics in the Reporting section. The campaign can only be associated to a single product/brand. Select the product/brand among those available or enter the one you wish to associate to the campaign.
- External ID and Name (optional)
These fields allow you to associate external references (name or ID) to the campaign. You can find these references in the Reporting tab and API exports.
- Comments (optional):
Comments are optional and are only used as personal notes to help you manage your campaigns.
When you save your campaign, it is automatically created and inserted in the Campaigns Overview.
Remember:
– The choice of the project and of the channel is final when creating a campaign: you cannot move the campaign to another project or another channel. You may be able to duplicate it in another project.
– If “Stop all delivery after this end-date” is checked, after the end-date the campaign will no longer deliver creatives, but only deliver a a white pixel.

Editing campaign tracking times
You can set campaign tracking times in the campaign Properties tab.
The tracking time refers to the maximum number of days during which conversions made by a visitor may be attributed to past actions. This time may vary depending on the actions.
In the campaign properties, you can open an attribution window allowing you to edit tracking times for various actions:
– Post-click
– Post-event
– Post-view (only available if the module is enabled in the campaign properties)
– Post-impression
Default post-click and post-event tracking times are set to 30 days. Post-view and post-impression tracking times are set to 15 days. You can change the tracking times to fit your needs. They must not, however, exceed 90 days.
The tracking times set for a campaign apply by default to all sites/offers of that campaign, but you can set different tracking times for a given campaign site/offer (from the site/offer Properties tab).
Once you’ve completed all fields, save to return to the campaign properties form.
Note:
If you do not wish attribute a tracking time to a type of action, simply set the number of days to zero.
Example:
By defining the post-view tracking time to 15 days and the post-impression tracking time to zero days, conversions will only be attributed to those creatives that reach minimum visibility (exposure) while no conversion will be attributed to those that are not visible, that is that are below minimum visibility level.

Activating optional modules
The Campaign Properties tab will allow you to enable optional modules for the campaign.
The optional modules that will appear in this window depend on those enabled in the AdPerf account. You can then enable (“on”) or disable (“off”) them for each campaign. Their default setting is on.
- Synchronization modules: Allows you to synchronize your campaigns with partners.
- Visibility module: Allows you to gather visibility statistics on your creatives. It also makes it possible to attribute conversions to “visible” exposures, above the minimum visibility level, rather than to non-visible exposures, below the minimum visibility level.
Save to return to the campaign form.

Configuring 3rd Party Tags across all campaign insertions
Using the 3rd Party Tags tab you can configure 3rd party tags for all campaign insertions.
This tab provides an overview of 3rd party tags (external tags) that apply to all campaign insertions and allows you to configure them. These tags will be enclosed into AdPerf display tags to be triggered when an impression is displayed or a user clicks on a creative. This applies to all insertions of the campaign.
To add a 3rd party tag, enter:
- Label: Enter a name that clearly defines the tag to be triggered
- Type: Set the type of code:
– “Pixel for impressions”: An image code triggered on impression.
– “Pixel for clicks”: An image code triggered on click.
– “Additional script for impression”: Javascript code triggered on impression.
- Url: Copy the url of the tag to be triggered here (provided by the 3rd party).
Click the + button to add and configure another 3rd party tag.
Clickthe Play / Pause button to enable or disable the tag triggering. When you add a new tag, the default setting is “play”.
Click remove to delete the tag
Note :
Additional macros can be inserted to the 3rd party tags allowing the 3rd party to retrieve information concerning the ad impression. Refer to the list of additional macros for more information.

Sending Ad serving/ tracking Tags to Ad Networks
The Send Tag tab for the campaign is designed to send the campaign ad serving / tracking tags to the ad network’s trafficking contacts.
From the campaign level Send Tags tab, you can access the different ad-serving and tracking codes for the campaign insertions and send them by email directly to your trafficking contacts in the different ad networks managing your media plan sites/offers .
- Selecting Sites / Offers:
You can send the email giving access to the tags to all site/offers within the campaign or only to a few. Use the checkboxes to select or deselect a site/offer.
- Contact Emails:
Enter the addresses of the contacts you want to send the email to. By default the contacts previously entered when creating the site/offer are entered, however you can delete or change them.
- Message:
You can add recipients and attachments. You can also select the default text language and change it.
Click the paper clip icon to add attachments to each site/offer separately (icon near the site/offer) or to all (icon below).
Click access to the tags page to view the tag codes.
Emails will be sent directly to all contacts when you click Send or Send and close.

Duplicating, deleting or stopping a campaign
You can delete, duplicate, and mark the campaign as ended directly from the drop-down campaign menu.
- Select Duplicate to add a trafficking time by duplicating the campaign media plan. You can choose whether or not to include the creatives assigned to insertions.
Enter the name of the new campaign and choose which project you wish to create it in. Check the Include creatives option to duplicate the creatives.
The duplicate of the campaign will be identical to the first (including its settings). You can choose to modify or delete specific settings later.
- Select Delete to delete the campaign. This option is only available if the campaign has not yet recorded statistics.
- Select Mark as ended to stop ad delivery across all of the campaign insertions.
When a campaign is ended, the creatives are no longer delivered. If delivery is not stopped by the ad network, a white pixel will be delivered. The campaign will no longer count impressions or clicks but may continue to track conversions depending on the tracking times you set. A red dot will mark the campaign status as “ended”.
